Giraffes are in the African Savannah region. Here they look out for predators. Giraffes tend to travel in small herds. They usually travel in open grassland. They travel in a range from 5 to 30 giraffes. The male giraffes sometimes play fight with eat other by butting their long necks and heads. Giraffes are not territorial. Giraffes do not have a dominant leader. Giraffes do protect the young calf and make sure they are never left alone. The stronger older male giraffes usually are the ones to mate over the younger giraffes. Male giraffes typically are more populated then the females.
