The Eumeryx is a close cousin of the giraffe that is even-toed like the giraffe. The Eumeryx has the appearance of a deer. The Climacoceras is one of the earliest ancestors of the Giraffidae. This ancestor resembles the Okapi. They lived in the Miocene epoch, 15 million years ago. Then their is the Jumae most likely the direct ancestor of the giraffe family. They are the closest to resemble the giraffe, although they were about a meter taller then the giraffe.
